Creating meaningful places
Leisure & Events Management

Facilitating skills (3 ec)

Learning outcome assignment: 'Is able to translate knowledge and insight about the concept of facilitating skills into the design and implementation of a session, and its evaluation'.

By facilitating, designing and running sessions yourself, you will find out what works and what doesn't and how you can design and organize valuable sessions. These skills are important in iterating, testing and co-creating to arrive at meaningful placemaking concepts.

To arrive at a meaningful placemaking concept, it is important to design and organize multiple sessions (creative session, expert session, place game, test session) to gain the necessary insights.

In the context of developing skills in the field of facilitating skills, you as a project group will design and implement the following sessions:
  • Week 5: Place game (formative all groups)
  • Week 9: Creative session or
  • Week 11/12/13: Short Term Experiments
The planning for these sessions will be made by the coaches and published on MS Teams. For the assignment Facilitating Skills (3 ec), you as a group will either be assessed on the creative session or on the short-term experiments by the coaches. For the session that is not assessed by the coaches, you have to write as a group an evaluation report.
